nothing but ： nothing else but--711
这两个词组的意义比较接近，都作“完全是”或“只不过是”讲，而且它们的否定形式都是 anything but ，只是 nothingbut 多少含有“轻蔑”的意境色彩。
例如：
Don't have him for a friend ： he is nothing bUt a criminal.
别同他交朋友，他只不过是个犯罪分子罢了。（含有“轻蔑”之意）
The situation is nothing else but fine. 这样的形势再好也没有了。（没有“轻蔑”之意）。
