这两个复合连词都作“刚……就……”或“一……就……”讲，只是 as soon as 强调时间的紧接或挨近（参见词条 P.75 ），而（ when ） once 则多少具有条件的意思。
例如：
I'll tell him the news as soon as I see him. 我一见到他，我准会把这一消息告诉他。
Once you show any fear, he'll attack you. 你一旦示弱，他就会攻击你。
