释义 | equally You use equally in front of an adjective to say that a person or thing has as much of a quality as someone or something else that has been mentioned. He was a superb pianist. Irene was equally brilliant. Note that you do not use equally in front of 'as' when making a comparison. You do not say, for example, 'He is equally as tall as his brother'. You say 'He is just as tall as his brother'. Severe sunburn is just as dangerous as a heat burn. He was just as shocked as I was. See entry at ↑ |
