| 释义 | 1．news 原来属于复数形式，但现在只用作单数，如 News has come 里的 has 不该改作 have。 2．news 前面不可加 a，也没有复数形式 newses。说“一件新闻”该说 a piece of news，a bit of news 或 a scrap of news，说“多件新闻”该说pieces of news，bits of news 或scraps of news。报纸上登的“一则新闻”是 an item of news 或 a news item，“多则新闻”是items of news 或 news items。 3．his news 有时是“关于他的消息”，就是“他的近况”，有时是“他所讲的消息”。news of him 是“关于他的消息”。 4．news 后面可以接以 that 引导的从句。例如：Then came (the) news that the Soviet Union had launched the world's first artificial earth satellite（人造地球卫星）on Friday, 4 October, 1957. 5．No news is good news 是谚语，直译作“没有消息便是好消息”。就是说“既然没听到什么消息，便证明事态不曾恶化，便等于听到了好消息”。注意：（1）这句并不作 All news is bad news 解。（2）这里的 No news 跟 No news was received that night 里的 No news 不同。 6．关于 news reel，参见 newsreel |
