| 释义 | 1．下面每组里的两句意思相同： 每组里的第一句多用在文字里。第二句多用在口语里。第二句比第一句语气重些。参见 and 5 2．try 后面接不定式或动名词都有。例如：Have you ever tried to cook?和 Have you ever tried cooking? 用不定式比用动名词普通。用了动名词把它所表示的动作看作一件特别的事，比较下面两句： He tried to read, but he was too tired to read much. He tried reading, but that could not make him forget his trouble. 下面一句里的 writing 和 painting 是指“写作”和“绘画”两件事，跟下文 various other things 处于同等地位，不可改作 to write 和 to paint： To make a living. Try cooking the vegetable, if you don't like it uncooked. 3．The judge tried the case yesterday（这审判员昨天审理这案件）等句是英美通用的。The lawyer tried the case yesterday（这律师［在法庭上］昨天办理这案件）等句是美国英语。 4．try 用作名词是类名词。例如：Let me have a try at it. 和 I had three tries and succeeded each time. |
