| 释义 | 1． 主要有两种用法。 1) 作限定词，后面常跟单数可数名词: another cup of coffee ( 但也可说 another 100 nurses) 2) 作代词，后面不能跟名词，前面常有 one: She kept going from one thing to another. 2． 前面一般不能加其他限定词，如不说 the another professor，因为 an- other 是 an other 的拼合形式。 3． 后面可以接数目词: It will cost me another $ 10． In another three weeks I'll be on holiday. Another 100 nurses are needed. 4． 一般在 3 个以上时才用它。所以在表示两个时不用 another，一般不说 She has two friends; one is a boy，and another is a girl. 句中的 another 应改成 the other。 5． yet another 在表示“已经太多了”的意思时才用它: She had yet another cup of tea. 她又喝了杯茶。( 她已经喝过好几杯，太多了。) He is involved in yet another scandal. 他又卷入了一起丑闻。 ( 他已经卷入了好几起丑闻。) 6． not another 在口语中表示讨厌、厌倦等情绪，有“可别再……了”的意思: Oh， no， not another supermar- ket! 啊呀，可别再造超市了! 7． one another 可用来修饰两个或两个以上的事物: The two of them sat facing one another. ( 两人) The students all shook hands with one another.
