这两个短语不容混淆： on schedule 作“按时”讲，相当于 on time 这个短语（参见词条 P.903 ）， on the schedule 则是“按时间表”的意思（注：这两个短语起初在美国使用，现在英国也使用开了）。

The work has been carried on on the schedule. 工程已按计划进行。
