这两个短语动词远非同义： put money into 作“投资于……”讲（参见词条 P.659 ），而 put money on 则是“在……上打赌”的意思。
例如：
The boss has put all his money into that speculative enterprise 这个老板已把自己所有的钱都投入那个投机企业上了。
The warmonger wants to put money on this unjust war by exporting munitions. 这个战争贩子要用出口军火的办法在这场非正义战争中打打赌。
