In American English, an assignment is also a piece of work given to schoolchildren to do at home. ◊ 'homework' In British English, work given to schoolchildren to do at home is called homework. He never did any homework. ◊ WARNING Homework is an uncount noun. You do not talk about 'homeworks' or 'a homework'. Note that pupils do homework. They do not 'make' homework. |
