If you find, find out, or discover that something is the case, you learn that it is the case.

In clauses beginning with 'when', 'before', or 'as soon as', you can omit the object after find out. You cannot do this with find or discover.
When mother finds out, she'll divorce you.
You want it to end before anyone finds out.
As soon as I found out, I jumped into the car.

If you find out or discover some information that is difficult to obtain, you succeed in obtaining it.

By the time we had discovered what had happened, the ants were attacking the entire collection.

You can use find followed by 'it' and an adjective to say whether it is difficult or easy for someone to do something. For example, if you have difficulty doing something, you can say that you find it difficult to do it.
The 87 girls in the survey said they found it difficult to show how clever they were.
She found it impossible to believe that I meant it.

Note that you must use 'it' in sentences like these. You do not say, for example, 'She found impossible to believe that I meant it'.
