这两个短语动词必须加以区别： put in mind of 作“记起”或“回忆起”讲，含有“突然”的含义； put/set one's mind to 则是“予以注意”的意思（参见词条 P.644 ）。
例如：
I was put in mind of a hard set of mixed tennis. 我突然回忆起一盘难分难解的男女混合网球赛来。
He'd do well in the exams if only his mind was put to hisstudies. 只要他把注意力全放在学习上，他是会考出好成绩来的。
