ahead of time 这个状语作“提早”讲，是从时间迟早着想的，所以相当于 early 这个副词（参见词条 P.1044 ）； ahead of schedule 这个状语则作“提前”讲，是从预期的或计划的日期着想的，所以相当于 before the planned or expected time 的意思。
例如：
