| 释义 | 1．关于 point of view 下面几点该注意： （1）point of view 普通译作“观点”，但直译作“观察的地点”解现在很少见，如 He painted the hill from the point of view in his bedroom 虽然不错，却不很自然。可以把 the point of view in 删去。 （2）point of view 往往被用作“意见”解，如 a carefully reasoned point of view 和 a biased point of view。 （3）注意from my point of view，from Mr Sheridan's point of view, from the philosophical point of view, from the point of view of philosophy 等表达方式里用 from。 （4）from the philosophical point of view, from the literary point of view 等表达方式里的 the 改作 a 也可以。但 from the point of view of philosophy 等表达方式里的 the 不可改作 a。 （5）from my point of view 等表达方式不可改作 from the point of my view 等，point of view 决不可拆开。 （6）参见 standpoint 和viewpoint 2．注意下面三句里的斜体字： He is on the point of leaving the city. He is at（或on）the point of death. 第一句里用动名词，习惯用 on。第二句里的 action 表示动作，习惯用 on。第三句里的 death 表示状态，习惯用 at 或 on。 3．There is not much point in doing that（做那个没有多大用处）等句子里的 in 偶尔被省去。 4．下面两句意思相同： I hope you will make a point of coming to see me on your return to town. I hope you will make it a point to come to see me on your return to town. 5．point 用作“钢笔尖”解是美国英语，相当于英国的 nib。 6．point 用作“学分（credit）的单位”解是美国词。 7．point out 有时有双宾语。例如：They pointed us out the building. (=They pointed the building out to us.) |
