【问】 therefor与therefore有何区别?
 【答】 therefor与therefore在意义上是不同的。therefor是个副词，作“为此”(for that，forthis，for it)解，用于正式语体，尤其是法律文件中：
 1. He will be paid therefor.
 他会为此得到报酬的。
 2. My client did commit crime，but his motive therefor has not been established.(Crews)
 我的当事人确实犯了罪，但是他犯罪的动机尚未确定。
 3. He promised to give a building for a hospital and the land necessary therefor.(WBD)
 他答应捐一个用作医院的建筑物以及为此所必需的土地。
 therefore在词义上相当于thus，consequently，for that reason，as a result of that：(因此，所以，结果)。(and) therefore常用于连接两个并列的分句，therefore亦可用作从属连词的关联词：because... therefore，seeing(that)...therefore：
 1. She went to a party and therefore did not study her lessons. (WBD)
 她去参加了一个聚会，因而没去上课。
 2. He was the only candidate;therefore he was elected. (WBD)
 他是唯一的候选人，因此被选上了。
 3. The novelist，therefore，has a special responsibility both to the present and the past ofhis country. (Fox)
 因此，小说家对国家的现在和过去都负有特殊的责任。
 4. He was busy; therefore he could not come.
