1) 本来是副词，但是可以作为形容词，但只能充当表语，不能充当定语，表示“健康良好”。

• I'm well.我身体好。

但不能说：*a well person。

2) 要注意，有时候 well 不一定就是“好”的意思，也可能是表示程度的“很”。

• Berlusconi, meanwhile, is running well behind the center-left opposition led by Romano Prodi in polls for elections next spring. (BusinessWeek, July 13, 2005, p.53)而同时，在预测明春选举的民意调查中，贝卢斯科尼又远远落后于罗曼诺·普罗迪为首的中左反对派（不能把 running well 连在一起理解为“进行得好”，应该把 well behind 连在一起理解为“远远落后于”）。
