■ contagious 与 infectious两个形容词都是“传染的”，但用法略有不同。早期有人认为 contagious 是“接触传染的”，infectious 是“传媒传染的”，contagious 是 infectious 内的一种。后来有人认为两者的区别是 contagious 强调其传染之迅速，infectious 强调其传染威力之巨，但根据似嫌不足。不过有一点可以肯定的是：contagious 转义可以指好的和不好的事情，infectious 转义则几乎都是指好的事情。 - European leaders felt terrorism could become contagious.
