1) 这个形容词在少数特定的句子中可以作为修饰动词的副词。

• Go easy!别着急！
• Take it easy!别紧张！
• Easy come, easy go.来得容易去得快。
• Easier said than done.说来容易做来难。
• With the Americans left reading Multitude, Dick Cheney can sleep easy. (The New York Review of Books, Nov. 4, 2004, p.40)如果美国人只能阅读《多方》，切尼就可以安枕无忧了。

2) to be easy to inf. 其实 easy 不是说明主语本身“容易”，而是说明对主语施加的 inf. 动作并不费力。

• The shower is easy to install.淋浴设备容易安装（“容易”的是指“安装”这个工序，不是“设备”本身）。
• He was an easy person to talk to.他是个好说话的人（easy 指的是 to talk to him，不是指 he）。

这样的结构，在英语十分普遍，在语言学上称为 tough-movement，在其他欧洲语言出现范围较小。

• This device, although expensive to make, is cheap to install. = Although it is expensive to make this device, it is cheap to install it.这种装置，尽管制造昂贵，但安装很便宜。

类似的用法，发展到使用抽象名词代替形容词，出现了骤然看来不合逻辑的句子。

• She is a pleasure to work with. = It is a pleasure to work with her.同她共事是愉快的。

这样的句子，已经十分流行，约定俗成。英语有了这样的句型，就可以保持“主位”（如上例的 she）占据句首“主语”的位置，不必挪到句子的后部（如上例的 her）。
