| 释义 | 1．neither 在用作代词或形容词的时候，用于两个人或物。例如：I have two dictionaries, but neither is here. 和 I have two dictionaries, but neither book is here. 有时也用于两个以上。例如：I have three dictionaries, but neither is here. 和 I have three dictionaries, but neither book is here. 但这种用法不算正当，该避免，该改用 none。 但 neither（副词或连接词）...nor...用于两个以上可以算得正当。例如：Neither you, (nor) your brother, nor your sister will do. 2．注意 In neither case can I agree 里用 can I，不用 I can。 3．neither（代词或形容词）属于单数形式，如 Neither is good 和 Neither book is good。把它当作复数是英美人常有的错误。 4．注意下面各句里的动词： Neither he nor you are wrong. Neither you nor he is wrong. Neither the father nor the sons are wrong. Neither the sons nor the father is wrong. 但这种结构一般避免使用，如上面四句可以改作： He is not wrong, nor are you. You are not wrong, nor is he. The father is not wrong, nor are the sons. The sons are not wrong, nor is the father. 5．neither...nor...跟 both...and...受同样的规则的限制，如可以说 neither boys nor girls，也可以说 neither with boys nor with girls 和 with neither boys nor girls，但不可说 neither with boys nor girls。参见 both 4和either 7 6．注意下面两句里用 is he，are you，has he 和 will he，不用 he is，you are，he has 和 he will： Neither is he wrong nor are you. Neither has he heard from her yet nor will he do so before long. 7．neither...nor...里的 nor 决不可改作 or。 8．neither 用作 nor。例如：He is not wrong, neither are you. 前面也可以有 and 或 but。例如：He is not wrong, and neither are you. 和 He is not wrong, but neither are you. 9．可以说If he is not wrong, neither are you。 10．下面 B 说 Neither he is 而不说 Neither is he，因为 he 就是 A 所说的 he，说 Neither is his brother 而不说 Neither his brother is，因为 his brother 并不就是 he： A: I don't think he is clever. B: Neither he is. Neither is his brother. 11．I don't know that neither 和 He did not give me a single yuan, nor a single fen neither 等句子里的 neither 是副词，现在不很普通，通常用 either。参见 either 8 |
