| 释义 | onward, onwards As is noted by several commentators, onward serves both as an adjective ("an onward rush") and as an adverb ("rushing onward"); onwards is an adverb only ("from 1600 onwards"). Evans 1957 notes that onward is the preferred adverb in American English, and our evidence supports that observation.
