• He has declined the invitation.他谢绝了邀请。
• When he asked her to dance, she declined politely.他请她跳舞，她有礼貌地拒绝了。

本来 decline 不用于“自己拒绝做某事”，但是由于它语气比较婉转，不像 refuse 那样强硬，所以也逐渐用来表示“婉拒做某事”（尽管有人认为不规范）。
