1) to play/ have a good/fine hand of 是“玩得一手好…”或“做得一手好…”（语言构造几乎同中文逐字对称，只是 good 修饰 hand，而中文“好”则修饰游戏或其他技能）。

• He plays a good hand of bridge.他打一手好桥牌。
• He had a fine hand of writing.他写得一手好字。

2) to have a good/bad hand of 是赌博或游戏中拿到一手好牌或坏牌。

• A Danish proverb says that “Life does not consist in holding a good hand of cards, but in playing a poor hand well.”有句丹麦谚语说：“生活并不在于手里掌握着一手好牌，而是在于牌不好但玩得好。”

3) 还可以表示售卖价钱的高低。

• You buy things at the best hand.你买的东西价钱最便宜。
• He always buys things at the worst hand.他买的东西，价钱总是最贵的。
