1. scream多指儿童、妇女由于痛苦、恐惧、愤怒或欢乐时突然发出的尖叫声，也可指车辆、汽笛、机器等尖叫。
2. shout指大声说、大声叫或高喊，可表示喜、怒、哀、乐等各种表情；也可表示提出警告或引起别人注意而大声叫嚷，多指男人的喊叫。例如：
　I can hear you all right, there is no need to shout.　我听得见你说话，用不着喊。
　Why are you shouting?　你为什么大喊大叫?
