释义 | inquire, enquire 1. Both inquire and enquire are used in American and British English. Enquire appears more frequently in British English than in American English. When enquire does appear in American English, it is usually in bookish or formal contexts. Overall, in American English inquire occurs more often than enquire; in British English inquire occurs about as often as does enquire. 2.
