【答】 由于last具有“最近的”和“最后的”两个词义，所以his last book是有歧义的：1.他的最近(出版)的那本书(作者尚在世)，如His last book is his best so far.(他最近出版的那本书是他迄今写得最好的一本书。);2.他最后的著作(暗示作者已不在人间)，如His last book waspublished in 1980。而his latest book就无这种歧义，总是指“他最新出版的那本书”。
