【问】 在表示位置时，介词above与介词over有什么区别?
 【答】 above与over均表示“在……上方”的意思，但over常常表示恰好的垂直关系，或者含有空间上接近(closeness)的含义。
 above只是笼统地表示“高于……”：
 1. We flew above the clouds.
 我们在云层上面飞行。
 2. The moon was now above the trees in the east.
 月亮挂在东方的树梢上。
 3. The castle stands on a hill above the valley.(不能用over)
 城堡建在一座小山上，位于山谷上面。
 当表示“高于某个抽象的水平”时，应当使用above：
 1. The mountain is 1，000 feet above sea level.
 这座山高海拔一千英尺。
 2. His work is well above the average.
 他的工作大大超过一般水平。
 当表示温度零度zero degree以上时，也只能使用above：
 The temperature is three degrees above zero.
 温度是零上三度。
 如果表示温度的某个度数以上，则既可使用above，也可使用over：
 The temperature is above/over 30°.
