【问】 although与though有什么区别?
 【答】 在用作从属连词表示让步意义时，它们的语义是相同的。只是although更正式些，语气更强一些，而though用得更普遍些。有些语言学家说，究竟是选用although还是选用though，完全取决于韵律。但是，although不能象though那样，引起从句中的主语和谓语的部分倒装(参见though)：
 Genius though she was，she was quite unassuming.
 虽然她是个天才，但是很谦逊。
 另外，although不能象though那样，用作并列连词，表示and，but，yet，however等含义：
 1. He is poor—though he is satisfied with his condition. (CGEL)
 他很穷，然而他却对他的状况很满意。
 2. It wasn’t my decision，though I think I agree with it.
 这不是我的决定，不过我认为我是赞同的。
 3. I knew his story，though I didn’t want to tell it just then. (Essential English)
 我知道他的身世，但是当时我不想说出来。
 although也不能象though那样，用作副词，放在句末：
 1. He said he would write to her. He didn’t，though.
 他说过他要给她写信的，但是他却没有写。
 2. He is looking fit，though. (Barrie)
 但是，他看上去很健康。
 3. You can count on him，though. (MD)
 但是你可以信赖他。
 但是，应当注意，although比though的语气强，所以当强调让步关系时多用although.
 1. Although still young he is going very grey. (Worrall)
 他尽管还年轻，但头发却白起来了。
 2. They are generous although they are poor. (LDCE)
 他们虽穷，却很慷慨。
