- Are you ready yet?
- Has he left yet?
- I haven't eaten yet. (American English: I didn't eat yet.)
- the largest pearl yet found (= ever found) in this area这个地区历来所发现的最大的珍珠
- This is the best museum we've visited yet (= we've ever visited).
- A presidential election without a clear winner Monday set up the greatest test yet of Mexico's young democracy, with ruling-party candidate Felipe Calderon starting to build a government even as his rival vowed to challenge every last vote.
4) to have yet to inf. - ... and Marshall, who appeared especially somnolent after a heavy lunch and had yet to open his mouth. (Rick Atkinson, in US News & World Report, Oct. 20, 2002)…
- Don't eat the pears. They aren't ripe yet.
- She hasn't got the job yet.
They are not yet ripe. She has not yet got the job. - Have you written the letter yet?
- Has Professor Hawkins arrived yet?
- Have you decided what to do yet (*Have you decided yet what to do)?
- I don't know what it is yet.
