1) 由于电脑的使用已经很普及，通常当不是指某个特定的电脑，而只是泛指电脑时，就用单数的 the computer；除非特别指某个新提到的电脑才说 a computer，特别指具体多个的电脑才用复数的 computers 或 the computers。

• Our employees can all use the computer.我们的雇员全都会使用电脑。

这里的“电脑”不是具体的一台电脑，也不是大家共用一台，而很可能是每人各有一台，单数是泛指的。

2) computer 前面依情况的不同用不同的介词。表示单纯的工作地点用 at。

• He sat down at the computer. 他坐到电脑前面（比较：He sat down at the desk.）。

表示以电脑为工具工作，用 with。

• He solved the problem with the computer.他用电脑解了题。

但是如果说的是在电脑上留下记录（尽管记录后来可以删掉），则用 on。

• He wrote the text on the computer.他把文本输入电脑。

也可以说：

• He transferred the video onto the computer.他把视频传输至电脑。

如果还是在解题的过程中，solved 可以改为 was solving，此时用 with the computer 和 on the computer 均可，但意思有些区别：着重解题的抽象内容时用 with，着重解题具体过程中屏幕上图像和文字的显示以及键盘和鼠标的操作时用 on；另外，如果着重从外部输入电脑时用 onto（用 on 则是着重在电脑本身范围内的操作）。
