■ decide这个动词(瞬时体,第四类)的搭配用法比较复杂。 1) 单独使用,没有补语,“做出决定”、“下决断”。 - —Where are you going on holiday this year?—I don't know. I can't decide. —你今年假期到哪里去度假?—不知道。我决定不了。
2) 后面跟 to inf.,表示“决定做某事”。 - I've decided to learn karate.我决定了要学空手道。
- What made you decide to get married?是什么使得你下决心结婚的?
3) 后面跟着间接疑问句,表示“对某问题作出怎么办的决定”。 - He has a month to decide whether he's going to stay.他有一个月的时间来决定是否留下。
- I can't decide which I prefer.我更喜欢哪一个,决定不下来。
- You must decide what to do/ when to act/ where to go.你必须决定干什么/何时动手/到何处去。
4) 后面跟着 that 从句,“作出判断,认为…”。 - She decided that the children should stay at home.她决定孩子们应该留在家里。
- He decided that the doorbell was broken.他断定门铃是坏了。
- In the end she decided that he was right.终于她确定是他对了。
这个 that 可以省略。 - He decided she was praying.他判定她是在祷告。

7) 主语是事物,直接宾语是个间接问句(可以以一般现在时代表将来发生的事),“决定(答案)”。 - It will decide who wins the election.这将决定谁胜选。
8) 主语与直接宾语都是事物,“(某事)决定(另一事的内容或结果)”或“(某事)决定(某结果的产生)”。 - Charlton's goal decided the match.查尔顿进的一球,决定了比赛的胜负。
