【答】 译文把much as...从句的意思完全弄反了。much as...taste是一个由as引导出的让步状语从句。类例：

1. Much as I admire his courage，I don’t think he acted wisely.

我虽然佩服他的勇气，但我不认为他这样做是聪明的。

2. Complex as is the path of the moon，it is possible to predict unerringly eclipses manyyears in advance of their occurrence.

尽管月球的轨道很复杂，但是在发生月蚀前许多年就能准确无误地进行预报。

3. Significant as is the subject of high-speed flight，our book will not devote to it but willdevote to the subject of low-speed flight.

尽管高速飞行问题是非常重要的，但是我们这本书不讨论这个问题，而将对低速飞行问题加以研究。
