【答】 把each和every并列起来使用，是为了表示强调。它是一个正确的惯用语。在用法上它相当于every，只能用作修饰语，而不能象each那样用作代词。

1. The secret was kept by each and every one of us. (CGEL)

我们每个人都保守这个秘密。

2. Each and every difference contains contradiction.

每一个差异中无不包含矛盾。

3. The captain wants each and every man to be here at eight o’clock.(DAI)船长要每个人8点钟到这里来。

但each and all则可以用作代词：

We live in a world which is full of misery and ignorance，and the plain duty of each and allof us is to try to make the little corner he can influence somewhat less miserable and some-what less ignorant than it was before he entered it.

我们生活在一个充满悲惨和无知的世界里，我们人人所有的明显的义务，就是尽量使自己影响所及的那个小小的角落变得不象我们来到之前那样悲惨，那样无知。
