原译把as such译作“就这点而论”似乎欠通。但查英汉词典，也只有“以这种身份(资格、名义)”、“就这点而论”、“本身”等译法，好像都对不上号。

【答】 as such还有一种未被我国英汉词典收入的用法和含义：位于分句之首，起承上启下的作用，可译为“因此”、“因而”。
