词组 not
释义

■ not

  • The next step was getting through the metal detector ... There was no way he could have passed through the magnetometer, not with the Smith & Wesson automatic clipped to his belt, and people in airports tended to get nervous if he showed what he was carrying. 修饰 not)。
  • And he couldn't leave Washington for a week of low-profile existence, leaving the limelight to the other side—not with that question lying unanswered behind him on the White House lawn, could he?
  • But there wasn't a way to be compassionate—at least not if you wanted to accomplish anything.
  • Not enough time. Not with so much still to do. 修饰 not)。
  • They'll never get away with it. Not as long as I live. 只要我还活着(not 不否定 as long as...,而是 as long as...修饰 not)。
  • I will not lie about it, not to protect anybody.

  • —Any problems?—Not so far. —有什么问题吗?—到目前为止还没有(不是 not否定 so far,而是 so far 修饰 not)。
  • —Did he comment on anything? —Not to my knowledge. —他对什么事情发表了议论吗?—据我所知,没有(to my knowledge管 not)。
  • Would this, as some warn, increase tensions all the more? Not in the least. 丝毫不会(not 不否定 in the least,而是 in the least 修饰与增强 not)。

  • Water, water everywhere — well, apparently not if you live in the south of England. 修饰 not)。

参见 not without 条。

但是,not because...却是 not 管 because,不是 because 管 not(参见 because 条的“肯否肯”与“肯否否”。)

■ not
