1) win 不能以被打败的对手为直接宾语,例如不能说 *We won them in the ball game. 要说 We beat them in the ball game. - Aren't you boys interested in who's winning the war?
- She won second prize.
- He won a gold medal in the Olympics.
- The other party failed to win any seats.
- The opposition party won a convincing victory in the election.
- They have won business from their competitors.
- The contract has been won by a British firm.
- The war educates the people. The people win the war, and they also win peace and progress.
- It took me a while to win their confidence.
- Her first novel won the acclaim of the critics.
- I'm convinced that it was her loyalty and support that won me the championship.
- This won her a place on the national team.
- His superior finishing speed won him the race.
- Their perseverance won them universal admiration.
- This offensive could win them the war.
- He has won several of his former opponents over to his ideas.
- The report won her over to the protesters' cause.
- We won him over in the end.
