词组 borrow
释义 borrow
borrowv. [′brǝʊ] (borrows; borrowed; borrowing)
1. vt. & vi.借,借进 receive or obtain sth temporarily from sb/sth with the promise or intention of returning it
2. vt. & vi.借鉴,抄袭 take and use sth as one's own; copy sth
3. vt. & vi.(某语言)借用(另一种语言的词语) (of a language) adopt (a word or phrase) from another language
3. borrow不用于borrow sb sth结构,被借对象一般用from或of引出,后者更正式;与on连用时,表示“以…

My brother lent a pound to me.
