　这组词都可表示“认识”。其区别是：前者指“认出”，表瞬间动作；后者指“认识”，表持续动作。

1. recognize在作“认出”解时，是瞬间动词，不用于进行体，也不能用于现在完成时。在作“承认”“公认”解时，可以用现在完成时。
2. were not recognized直译是“不再被承认是雇员”的意思，实际上是“被除名”“被炒鱿鱼”的意思，这种用法多见于新闻语体中。
